About the role
Eastern Health is currently looking for passionate and experienced Pharmacist to join our Box Hill Hospital Pharmacy Department. Eastern Health operates six pharmacy departments, located across the eastern region of Melbourne. Our pharmacy department strongly values professional development and clinical education. We have an ongoing commitment to practice-based research and offer opportunities for involvement to all staff.
An exciting opportunity exists at Box Hill Hospital for a passionate pharmacist with sound knowledge within Dispensary Services to join our dedicated team. The successful applicant will be based at Box Hill Hospital on a permanent, full time basis to deliver dispensary services and provide support to Senior Pharmacist Dispensary Box Hill Hospital Pharmacy.
The position involves:
- Assist in planning, resource management & procedures relating to dispensary activities. Participate in dispensary activities.
- Manage staff & workflow within the dispensary, including co-ordination of outpatient and inpatient activities
- Assist in orientation and training of dispensary staff
- Ensure all eligible PBS items are claimed
- Ensure that relevant dispensary-related Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are captured
- Assist in the management of controlled drugs in dispensary
- Report on ‘incidents/near misses’ relating to the dispensary
- Maintaining up to date stock holding in all dispensary areas
- Ensuring high-cost medicines purchased are efficiently claimed within the same calendar month as purchased
- Act as point of contact in dispensary related matters and provide cover for the Senior Pharmacist Dispensary BHH
- Rotation to other Eastern Health sites as required by mutual agreement
- Participation in late shift, weekend and public holiday pharmacy services
