Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dispensary Technician to join our community pharmacy team. As a Dispensary Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting our pharmacists, ensuring the accurate dispensing of medications, and delivering outstanding customer service. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our customers and contribute to the success of our pharmacy.
Responsibilities:
- Assist pharmacists in accurately dispensing prescription medications and over-the-counter products.
- Prepare prescription orders, including counting, measuring, and labelling medications, following all regulatory requirements and pharmacy protocols.
- Maintain inventory levels by monitoring stock levels, ordering medications and supplies, and conducting regular stock checks.
- Provide friendly and knowledgeable customer service, answering questions, offering product recommendations, and addressing customer concerns.
- Manage & prepare Dose Administration Aids for community patients.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including pharmacy laws, privacy requirements, and medication safety protocols.
- Collaborate with pharmacists and other team members to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient pharmacy environment.
- Assist with administrative tasks, such as maintaining patient records, filing paperwork, and scheduling appointments.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Dispensary Technician or pharmacy assistant is preferred.
- Certificate III in Community Pharmacy (SIR30116) or equivalent qualification is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy operations, including prescription processing, medication dispensing, and inventory management.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, with a friendly and empathetic demeaner.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in performing tasks, especially in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with pharmacy software systems (FRED Dispense) is an advantage.
- Must be reliable, trustworthy, and committed to upholding professional standards and ethical principles in healthcare.
