Dispensary Technician

We are looking for a dynamic hard-working Dispensary Technician with or without experience to join our talented team at Priceline Pharmacy Jesmond.

About the role

• Remain up to date with on-going issues affecting the dispensary.
• Select items for dispensing when specifically directed by the Pharmacist, selecting cautionary advisory labels as directed.
• Maintain patient records in a professional and timely manner.
• Provide continuous support and assistance to the schedule counter and other areas, to provide care that is of an exceptional standard.
• Perform clerical functions associated with the prescription dispensing, including the entering of prescription records, provided that a Pharmacist personally checks each patient’s medical history before the dispensed medicine is supplied.
• Support and encourage Generic Medication selection
• Unpack stock and general housekeeping duties.
• Stock management, including ordering, marking off, and merchandising stock
• Customer service, especially advising patients on products, pharmacy medicines, and complementary medicine
• Knowledge of when to refer to the pharmacist for more complex inquiries
• Taking ownership of the professional retail areas in the pharmacy and maintaining them to a very high standard.

Skills and Experience 

• Certificate II or III in Community Pharmacy - Preferred but not essential
• Sound understanding of general pharmacy product knowledge.
• Basic computer skills.
• Experience in Dispensing Medications, FRED Dispensing essential
