The Opportunity
The role of Distribution Centre Manager, VIC is responsible for both the day-to-day running of our large DC as well apply a continuous improvement lens as our business evolves with the distribution of alcoholic beverages in 2025. With strong people leadership and engagement experience, you will support and energise our people through these exciting changes.
Key responsibilities include:-
- Ensuring that all daily operational requirements are met across fulfilment, delivery, GWP & safety
- Responsible for fulfilment operations to all customers across Victoria, Tasmania and 3PL operations in South Australia
- Oversee the management of all inbound freight from various locations into the warehouse
- Resolving complex issues promptly, escalating where appropriate
- Managing the local operational relationship with transport providers
- Management of the DC operational budget
- Leads the reporting and recording of any safety incidents, accidents, hazard identification and investigation – ensuring all our staff are kept safe and well
- Taking the lead on appropriate projects relating to optimising DC performance or capability. This will include warehouse transitions, automation projects and network design activities
- Leading the team to drive great outcomes for the DC and for their professional development
What’s in your toolkit?
This role manages one of our largest and busiest DC’s so were looking for an individual with a strong track record of success in a similar role within the FMCG industry. Key metrics for success include pick rates & cost per carton, DIFOT and Advantage survey results, you will work with your team, cross-functionally with the business and with external customers and providers to ensure these metrics are met at the least. Developing effective relationships internally and externally will be key to your success. As we transition our network to cater for the introduction of alcoholic beverages you will be involved in various project related activities so time management will be key to balance the operational with these project related responsibilities.
An effective people leader, you will motivate and inspire your team, bringing them along on the journey as our business evolves, all whilst ensuring their safety and continued engagement and performance.
We use SAP EWM so exposure to working on this system is highly advantageous.
