About the role
We are seeking applications for the role of Distribution Centre Shift Supervisors based in our state-of-the-art production facility at the Berri Estates Winery facility - the largest combined Winery and Packaging Facility in the southern hemisphere.
Reporting to the Assistant Logistics Manager, this role forms an integral part of our warehouse operations team working rotating shifts (morning, afternoon, and overnight) Monday to Friday each week, with occasional weekend work.
You’ll enjoy leading a committed team in the safe and efficient operations of all facets of warehousing alongside automated guided vehicles in our modern, climate-controlled warehouse.
Day to day duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Working as an effective team member, leading, guiding, inspiring, and organising the warehouse team for the efficient picking, packing and loading of finished goods
- Monitoring, maintaining and promoting safety, quality and continuous improvement requirements
- Provision of mentoring and feedback to team members on performance
- Contributing to continuous improvement processes within the lean philosophy
- Receiving incoming shipments and checking them against purchase orders
- Undertaking regular inventory checks
- Ensuring compliance with accreditation standards and participation in internal and external audits including implementation of actions to close out non-conformances
- Using multiple system across warehouse WMS, AGV manage and JDE
- Forklift operations in the picking, packing and loading of finished goods
About you
To be considered for this role you’ll have:
- Extensive knowledge and experience in warehousing
- A sound understanding of health and safety compliance
- Current forklift licence
- Initiative and problem solving skills in a workplace environment
- Clear and effective communication skills to confidently sharing knowledge and contribute ideas
- A professional approach to work demonstrating flexibility, and taking ownership
- Self motivation and the ability to work well under pressure
- Formal qualifications in Transport & Distribution (Warehousing & Storage) Certificate III or equivalent (desirable but not essential)
- Experience or involvement with a lean implementation program and culture (desirable but not essential)
