Reporting to the Senior Manager Diversity & Inclusion you will support the team and partner with internal stakeholders and external providers to successfully deliver contemporary programs of work on our Belonging at BEN strategy for Cultural Diversity & Inclusion at the Bank as well as for Customer & Community Inclusion. In addition to this focus you will be actively involved in engaging employees across the bank to take part in focused learning around DE&I topics.

As a passionate champion you’ll lead Diversity & Inclusion projects for cultural, customer & community providing advice on current research and trends, legislative commitments, and innovative strategies to enable an inclusive and diverse culture. Ideally you will also have experience across other areas of focus including Accessibility, Gender and LGBTIQ+ Inclusion. With genuine access to key decision makers you will negotiate with influence across the enterprise as a proactive change agent. You’ll be given ownership to challenge the status quo and a career opportunity to do work that makes a real difference and has a positive impact.

We embrace flexibility and so while this position is fulltime it could be split and performed by two Part Time individuals. We’re happy to discuss what arrangements could work best to suit us and you.

Ideally this role will be based in one of our main office locations in Melbourne, Bendigo, Adelaide, Sydney or Brisbane for the days that the team are in the office together, and then other days you’ll be working from home to help better balance your life and work. We’re also open to considering applicants based anywhere in Australia. We offer flexible work options that put our people first, and a hybrid model with a minimum of two days in a local Head Office per week.

  • This role is a 12 month fixed term contract - you will be an employee of Bendigo Bank, be paid a salary and get access to employee benefits.

As a Diversity & Inclusion Specialist you’ll get to…

  • Design and implement engaging execution approaches and resources.
  • Manage key Cultural Diversity & Inclusion related projects within designated timeframes and budgets, in a complex and commercially focused environment.
  • Build visibility and allyship, challenge the status quo and help progress the Belonging at BEN strategy on cultural diversity and inclusion.
  • Develop constructive working relationships with relevant stakeholders and our Cultural Inclusion Employee Network Group to promote the awareness of the Belonging at BEN agenda and advocate for culturally diverse team members and customers.
  • Provide thought leadership on Diversity & Inclusion issues.
  • Engage employees across the bank to take part in focused learning around DE&I topics,

About you

  • Proven experience in Cultural Diversity and Inclusion.
  • Demonstrated capabilities in designing and delivering Cultural Diversity & Inclusion initiatives within complex, highly distributed organisations. Industry experience from banking, financial services or consulting is desirable.
  • Demonstrated project management experience managing multiple priorities across projects to deliver within agreed scope, time, and budget.
  • Experience in change management with a focus on enterprise change.
  • Excellent consulting skills to act as a trusted advisor, motivate people, and build engagement across the organisation.
  • Excellent presentation, influencing, and facilitation skills.
  • A genuine passion, drive, and ability to articulate the very heart of what cultural diversity and inclusion is and align outcomes to organisational performance.
