About the role

This role contributes to the success of the City to provide strategic direction and advice for City of Hobart activation programs, major events and grants that produces an enabling environment for place activation across the community and to proactively increase community interaction and participation.

Role accountabilities include:

  • Work with the Manager Creative City to coordinate the development and delivery of existing Events, Activations, Grants and Sponsorship programs in line with the Council’s Creative City Strategy.
  • Build a community first focus that encourages positive and proactive communication and interaction with all community members and stakeholders.
  • Responsible for the management and delivery of the City of Hobart festive season events and activation program including the Christmas Pageant, seasonal street decorations, activation and seasonal community events support as well as direction and oversight of relevant marketing and communication strategies.
About you

This role requires the applicant to have a Batchelor Degree or higher in Events Management, Arts or a relevant discipline coupled with sound experience in a similar role.  A minimum of 3 years of experience in the delivery of major events, or similar, is required with a high level of production management and organisational skills.
