Job description

Imagine working for a truly regional organisation with 90+ employees who share a vision: Thriving Communities, Endless Possibilities. We enjoy what we do at TFSS. We bring projects to life in the towns and communities in which we work, and we’re driven by a set of values and common principles.

TFSS is looking for a full-time fixed-term Domestic and Family Violence Specialist Worker (Multicultural Focus) to be part of the Women’s Domestic Violence Court Advocacy Service (WDVCAS) team.

The WDVCAS program advocates on behalf of women and children who have experienced, or are experiencing, domestic violence and facilitates their access to the justice system to obtain effective legal protection. The Domestic and Family Violence Specialist Worker primarily responds to referrals, supporting victims by conducting threat assessments, safety planning and referring to other services to address a range of client needs.

This position is physically based in the WDVCAS New England Region in Armidale, and will require frequent travel throughout the New England Police District and other service areas.

  • Being female is a genuine occupational requirement of this position and an exemption has been granted under the Anti-Discrimination Act (1977).

All staff are valued and respected and are presented with genuine opportunities to develop to their full potential. TFSS recognises the importance of a healthy work/life balance, and you will enjoy some flexibility in your working hours if required.

Remuneration for this role will be paid at an hourly rate of between $41.52 and $49.65 dependent on relevant skills and experience. In addition, salary packaging benefits are available for TFSS staff, where you can package up to $15,900 tax- free per annum.

Please note that although this position is advertised for 35 hours per week job sharing arrangements, or an adjustment in hours may be considered for the right candidate/s.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and those from multicultural backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Applicants must submit a resume and coverletter outlining their suitability for the role and how they meet each of the Competencies and Outcomes as listed in the position description (which is available on our website) to be considered for an interview.
