Position: Domestic and Family Violence Support Worker
Start: ASAP
Duration: Permanent
Hours: 4 days per week (flexible on the days)
Salary: $37.82 per hour plus (commensurate with experience)
Location: Port Macquarie, NSW

Overview
Our Port Macquarie not-for-profit client is looking for an experienced Domestic and Family Violence Support Worker to provide important specialist services to the people in the Port Macquarie Hastings Community. Primary Purpose of the Position
The experienced Domestic and Family Violence Support Worker will provide best practice social response to women and their children experiencing Domestic and Family Violence and/or homelessness, supporting and empowering them through the provision of information, advocacy and referrals to establish a life free from Domestic and Family Violence.
Key responsibilities
The key responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Provide holistic safety and case planning to women and their children experiencing Domestic and Family Violence and/or homelessness in accordance with our Service Philosophies.
  • Assist with the transport of women and their children as guided by policy 1.9 Transport and Vehicle Use.
  • Maintain records and statistical data, including CIMS data, in accordance with our contractual obligations with Department of Communities and Justice.
  • Complete and maintain outcomes measurement through the Personal Wellbeing Index (PWI) and Client Outcomes Survey (COS) in accordance with the Department of Communities and Justice contractual requirements.
  • Network with other services to strengthen referral pathways and develop innovative, integrated community responses to women and their children experiencing Domestic and Family Violence and/or homelessness.
  • Represent our client in community such as attending interagency meetings with our stakeholders as required.
  • Plan, schedule and implement client group programs as required.
  • Attend meetings, supervision and other workshops and training as required.
  • Office duties as required including the cleanliness and upkeep of our welcome and office spaces.
Selection Criteria
Qualifications
  • Attainment of Domestic and Family Violence Specialist competencies
  • At least 3 years relevant Domestic and Family Violence experience.
Essential Criteria/Work Requirements
  • Reference checks
  • National Criminal History Record Check in accordance with the Disability Inclusion Act 2014
  • Hold a valid clearance to work with Children (Working with Children Check).
  • A current/valid Australian Driver’s Licence and eligibility to work within Australia for the period of the appointment.
  • Travel between locations
Work Experience
  • Previous experience and demonstrated capability with Domestic and Family Violence is a must.
Key Capabilities
  • Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word and accounting software.
  • Attention to detail, proven accuracy in data entry.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with others.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and resolve client queries.
  • Well-developed organisational skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Willingness to learn and strive towards process improvement.
