About the role

We are seeking a Domestic Care Assistant who are committed to ensuring the highest possible standard of in home care for our valued clients. 

Key responsibilities include:

• Assisting our clients with general domestic duties as prescribed in the clients' care plans;
• Assisting the clients with food preparation and cooking of meals;
• Ensuring our client's home is hygienic and a safe environment that supports the promotion of independence;
• Recognising and responding to change in a client's condition, as well as documenting and communicating this information as required; and
• Ensuring our clients are treated with dignity and respect and supported to exercise choice and independence.

What else you need to know:

• Several part-time positions available;
• 3 days (22.8 hours) per week;
• Sunshine Coast-based;
• Company vehicles can be utilised, however you will need to use your own vehicle in instances where none are available; and
• Kilometre-reimbursement offered for use of own vehicle.

Selection Criteria

The successful person for this position MUST have:

1. Experience performing domestic duties to a high quality
2. Genuine empathy with elderly clients and a passion to work within the community service industry;
3. The commitment to represent Comlink Australia with pride and help make lives better; and
4. Understanding of specialised service delivery within diverse groups, specifically Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, CALD, Veterans, Disability, Mental Health, LGBTI+ and Homelessness

You must also have:

• Current open Drivers Licence;
• A comprehensively insured, reliable car (for use when work vehicle not available);
• A current First Aid & CPR certificate;
• Current Influenza and COVID vaccinations (condition of employment);
• Willingness to obtain Disability Worker Screening and Working with Children Check; and
• Willingness to obtain a QLD Restricted Driver's Authority.
