The Role:
An exciting opportunity exists for enthusiastic Registered Midwife/Nurse to join the Women's and Children's leadership team at Northern Health.The Domiciliary Coordinator is a Registered Midwife/Nurse who demonstrates expert knowledge and skills whilst assuming a prominent management focus within the unit. The Coordinator is an integral member of the department management team, assisting the NUM in the course of their duties to ensure efficient operation of the after birth home care services.
We are currently seeking a Permanent Part-Time Domiciliary Coordinator in the Birthing Support unuit.
The Coordinator handles the department's nursing, midwifery and allied resources, as well as the daily run of visits for midwifery staff and is a valuable resource for all Domiciliary staff. Is capable of troubleshooting and assisting staff when there is a clinical problem, as well as acting as a point of escalation. When necessary, the Coordinator supports and aids with ward, home and neonatal visits, and is also in charge of organising patient Insourcing and Outsourcing.
To be successful in this role you will have:

  • High standard of communication skill and resource person with the unit
  • At least 5 years of post-graduation experience.
  • Have previously held or are now holding a leadership position, such as ANUM.
  • Have prior Domiciliary experience.
  • Commitment to quality women-centre care and quality improvement
  • Good leadership skills and operation knowledge of the unit
  • Proven ability to work in a collaborative and high-pressure environment
  • Accredited to complete newborn examinations
  • Current Victorian Driver's license
  • Prepare and present reports on activity at the monthly Divisional Quality meetings.
