Youth Off The Streets is a not-for-profit youth organisation that provides safety, support and opportunities for young people to build a positive future. We offer crisis accommodation and housing services, alternative high school education, alcohol and other drugs counselling, youth justice support, life skills and employment programs, cultural support and community engagement, among other services. We focus on early interventions that empower young people and strengthen communities.
About the Role:
The role of the Donor Relations Coordinator is to ensure that donors experience high-quality interactions with the organization that foster long- term engagement and investment and to provide backup to all areas of the Individual Giving Team including Events, Donor Relations, Major Donors, Regular Givers and Community Events.
Key Responsibilities:
- A back-up for the fundraising manager and fundraising team whenever required, including events, community events, major donors, bequests, direct marketing
- Manage all regular giving backend processes
- Manage donor update notes in Raider Edge database
- Manage Individual team’s meetings and minutes
- Various fundraising event duties as required
- First point of contact for all incoming donations via phone, mail, emails and info website
- Manage incoming fundraising mail and prepare, code and batch donor payments for the Finance & Income team
- Follow up calls and/or mail with donors e.g. credit card expiry dates, incorrect addresses, general anomalies , thank you calls to Donors etc
- Manage all return to sender appeal mail with a view to achieving re-engagement
- Process invoices
Skills, Abilities and Knowledge required:
- Knowledge of fundraising within a charity environment working close with donors
- High level telephone skills with a flair for customer service
- Events or functions experience
- Knowledge of Raisers Edge or similar database system
- Strong oral, written, presentation and advocacy skills
- Ability to work independently
- A high level of computer literacy
- Excellent administrative skills with a fantastic eye for detail
Requirements:
Qualification & Experience
- Experience in a similar environment, preferably in the not-for-profit space.
- 2 years + in a related field
- Working with children’s check, police check and valid Australian drivers licence
- Australian working rights
