The Salvation Army Doorways program provides person-centred care to community members who are in a financial crisis or suffering other forms of hardship or distress. Our practitioners are mindful of trauma informed practices, working within a strength-based context with holistic principles to build individual capacity, resilience, and well-being.
About the role
We are seeking a values driven Case Worker, who will be responsible and accountable for delivering a holistic and integrated range of support services, in line with the ‘Doorways’ model of service; for people who are homeless, at risk of homelessness, experiencing social or physical poverty, marginalisation or social exclusion, which includes access to emergency relief assistance and other support services.
You will successfully
Provide a holistic case work service to people experiencing financial hardship
Provide the program service within the boundaries of qualifications and experience under the Doorways Delivery Model and under the direction of the area Regional Manager
Provide a prevention and early intervention response to people in need, in an effort to prevent the initial crisis escalating out of control and further entrenching them in poverty and disadvantage
Development of individual case plans in collaboration with clients
Develop holistic and achievable options with clients enabling them to best deal with their situations
This is a permanent part-time role (19 hours per week) role based in Bentley, WA. This role has opportunity for flexible work hours. The salary and conditions for the role are in accordance with the SCHADS WA Level 4 Award.
You will have
Relevant tertiary degree with relevant experience or associate diploma with relevant experience; or lesser formal qualifications with substantial years of relevant experience
Minimum 1-year experience in case management
Knowledge with client advocacy and working in partnership with others
Current WA Drivers Licence
Proficient interpersonal skills, strong verbal and written communications and negotiation/consultation skills
