The Client is a successful and well-established steel fabrication and engineering company in Australia, boasting a rich history spanning several decades. With a fully equipped workshop and a dedicated team, we specialise in designing, fabricating, and installing bespoke steel products, cementing our reputation as leaders in the industry.

The Client is in search of a dedicated Draftsman / Steel Detailer to join our team in Rockhampton, QLD. This pivotal role involves using Autodesk Inventor to create detailed drawings of structural steel elements like stairs, handrails, platforms, and conveyor systems. The position offers a unique blend of technical drafting and occasional client interaction for measuring and discussing project requirements.

Reporting to the Project Managers, you will ensure smooth project progress by reporting back on milestones and deliverables. The position is designed to foster teamwork, offering a unique opportunity to contribute significantly to our projects' success.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Producing workshop detail drawings for steel fabrication
• Visiting clients to measure and discuss requirements
• Assisting in estimating and project management tasks
• Utilising Autodesk Inventor or AutoCAD for drafting, with a preference for Inventor
• Interpreting structural and mechanical design drawings

To be considered for this dynamic role, you will possess experience in steel detailing, complemented by a solid background in the steel fabrication industry.

Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:

• Experience with Autodesk Inventor or similar 3D software
• Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD
• Ability to interpret structural design drawings
• Familiarity with mechanical design and conveyor systems
• A practical approach to manufacturing
