Role Overview: The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and plans for our welding manufacturing processes using SolidWorks software. This position requires a deep understanding of mechanical design principles and the ability to efficiently manage part numbers and conduct stock taking to ensure seamless production workflows. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Utilize SolidWorks to create accurate and detailed 2D and 3D models and drawings for welding manufacturing projects. 
  • Familiarity with SolidWorks PDM (Product Data Management) preferred. 
  • Collaborate with the operations team to understand project requirements and translate them into technical drawings and plans. 
  • Maintain and organize part numbers using effective archiving systems to ensure easy access and efficient inventory management. 
  • Conduct regular stock taking to monitor inventory levels, identify discrepancies, and recommend solutions to maintain optimal stock levels. 
  • Ensure all drawings and documents comply with industry standards and company policies. 
  • Participate in project meetings, providing insights and feedback to improve design efficiency and product quality. 
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in CAD design and welding manufacturing to continuously improve skills and knowledge. 

Qualifications: 

  • Proven experience as a Draftsman, with a strong portfolio showcasing expertise in SolidWorks
  • In-depth knowledge of welding manufacturing processes and mechanical design principles. 
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage part numbers and conduct stock taking efficiently. 
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all aspects of design and documentation. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues across departments. 
  • Relevant degree or certification in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, or a related field.
