Join our Emergency Department team as a Medical Scribe and help support our commitment to quality patient care!
The Medical Scribe contributes to the efficient operation of patient services within the Emergency Department of Flinders Medical Centre under direct supervision of a Medical Consultant and undertakes tasks allocated by the Medical Consultant or their delegates.
About the Role:
As the Medical Scribe, your duties may include:
- Accompanying the Medical Consultant or their delegate whilst they assess a patient and document assessment findings into the Electronics Medical Records (EMR) to be verified by the consultant or delegate
- Once blood has been taken by the appropriate staff member, collecting these samples and sending them for analysis after blood investigation requests have been ordered by the consultant or their delegate
- Checking the availability of pathology and radiology results and reporting these to the Medical Consultant
- Assisting in preparing discharge letters
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Experience in providing a high-quality patient-focused service to others
- Demonstrated organisational skills with an ability to be accountable for own time management
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Experience in dealing with sensitive and confidential information
