Job description

Join the heart of Sydney Airport's hustle and bustle with our Aviation Operations team! We're the guardians of safety, compliance, and high standards, ensuring everything runs smoothly. From the tarmac to the terminal, we set the rules, keep an eye on the Airport Operating Licence, and make sure everyone playing a part in our airport's operations is doing their bit to keep things safe, secure, and environmentally friendly.

Internally we call this role a ‘Ground Standards Examiner & Administrator’.

Ready to be part of something big? Dive into the dynamic world of aviation with us!

What you’ll be doing:

  • Conduct thorough theoretical and practical assessments for Airside Driving Permits, maintaining the highest safety standards.
  • Efficiently handle the administration of Airside Operating Licence (AOL) applications, vehicle and equipment registrations, and training applications.
  • Vigilantly monitor changes to AOL applications to assess risk implications and ensure compliance.
  • Oversee the adherence to AOL and Airside Vehicle Control Handbook (AVCH) regulations, processing any breaches with precision.
  • Ensure training compliance is up to date, facilitating access upgrades for the use of access-controlled common user equipment.
  • Lead Aerobridge training sessions, empowering trainers and operators with the knowledge and skills for safe and efficient operation.
  • Support operational oversight of Airport Operating Licensees, ensuring alignment with AOL standards.
  • Manage monthly billing processes related to AOL compliance and contribute to the preparation of performance and operational observation reports.

Who We Are Looking For:

  • An individual with a robust operational background in aviation, boasting at least 5 years of experience in the sector, ideally with a focus on infrastructure-based training.
  • A holder of a Certificate IV in Training & Assessment, demonstrating a strong foundation in delivering high-quality training and assessment.
  • Hold a NSW Driving Licence
  • A seasoned professional in training roles, with a proven track record of developing and implementing effective training programs.

About us:

At Sydney Airport, our vision is to deliver a world-class airport experience and foster the growth of aviation for the benefit of Sydney, NSW, and Australia. We are Australia’s busiest airport and one of the country’s most important pieces of infrastructure.

Our purpose is to ‘Make Sydney Proud Everyday’. We deliver this by attracting and enabling highly engaged team members who can contribute to our purpose and values. Our people are part of a diverse and inclusive workforce who contribute to the successful operation of Australia’s main gateway.
