About the Role
We have an opportunity for a Driving Instructor to join the Life Without Barriers team in Kalgoorlie.
You will deliver theory and practical driving instruction to clients to help enhance the capacity of local community driver training and education. You will also help to raise awareness of responsibilities associated with maintaining a MDL and vehicle licence.
This is a Full Time position, 08:30-16:30 Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and promote engagement with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and community groups.
- Deliver practical and theory Manual Driver Licence education to target clients ensuring that appropriate records are maintained.
- Attend stakeholder meetings and/or training where required.
- Ensure that assets including Driver funded vehicles are maintained to a high standard.
Skills & Experience
- A current WA Manual Driving Licence and a current WA Driving Instructor Licence.
- Demonstrated experience of working effectively with youth and adults with challenging behaviours.
- Demonstrated experience of working unsupervised in rural and remote regions.
- Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and the issues faced by Aboriginal people and communities.
- Senior First Aid (Providing First Aid & CPR) certificate
- Working With Children WA Card
Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check, Working with Children Check and DCP395 check.
