Our Australian-owned, commercial client is looking to engage a Drupal Developer in a permanent position. The Drupal Developer will have the opportunity to work with a wide range of commercial and Government clients, on numerous projects. This role presents an exciting opportunity to join a growing, highly skilled, and dynamic team with plenty of mentoring and development opportunities. This is a primarily remote position, with one day every two weeks from their Canberra office, where you will add your expertise to an established company with an excellent work culture.
Responsibilities- Installation and Configuration - Choosing appropriate modules, themes, and settings to achieve the desired functionality and appearance
- Custom Module Development - Write code to add new features or modify existing ones to meet the project's requirements
- Theme Development - Designing the layout, styling elements, and ensuring a responsive design for various devices
- Content Management - Create content types, fields, and taxonomies, ensuring that the content is organized and presented as needed
- Integration with Third-Party Systems - Integrate Drupal with external databases, APIs, or third-party applications to ensure seamless data flow and functionality
- Customizing User Interfaces - Creating custom forms, improving navigation, and optimizing the overall usability of the website or application
- Performance Optimization - Address performance issues by optimizing code, configuring caching mechanisms, and employing best practices to ensure that Drupal websites and applications load quickly and efficiently
- Security - Keep the Drupal core, contributed modules, and custom code up-to-date to protect against potential security vulnerabilities
- Troubleshooting and Debugging - Debugging errors, addressing compatibility issues, and resolving other technical challenges
- Prior experience developing applications or websites with Drupal
- Strong understanding of Git and CI/CD to configure, as well as hosting and the infrastructure of a Drupal website
- Strong understanding of PHP, and how to develop for Drupal using PHP through theme hooks and custom modules
- Proven experience building Drupal themes using Twig, CSS/SCSS, and JavaScript
- Proven development experience using Javascript
- Experience building Government websites using Drupal or GovCMS is highly advantageous
- Relevant Bachelors Degree in IT, Software Engineering or Computer Science
