Elegant Smiles is looking for a new dental assitant to join our team. We are looking to fill the following positions;
- Dental Assistant (experienced or trainee):
- Part-time: split day shifts may also be available. A full-time role may be available when our owner returns from maternity leave.
- Combines Dental Assisting and Dental Reception.
- Days depend on availability and other staff rostering
Elegant Smiles is a QIP Accredited Dental Practice, and we take pride in our infection control, clinical procedures and running of our practice. We enjoy coming to work, who we work with, and our patients are simply lovely. Our practice philosophy is based on prevention and education, and we are always looking at ways to improve everything we do.
We are a general dental practice with a consultant Prosthodontist, two general dentists and an Oral Health Therapist located centrally in South Perth with free off-site parking. We have three Dental Assistants and an office manager. We are involved in all aspects of dentistry, 3D printing and scanning, Invisalign, cosmetic dentistry, implant surgery and much more.

About You
The ideal candidate must have;
- Certificate 3 or 4 in Dental assisting or experience in dental assisting is highly desirable, but not essential. We have an excellent training program and will train the right person;
- Passionate about learning and developing your knowledge in the dental industry;
- Willingness to continue learning, flexibility and adaptability to change;
- Enjoy working as part of a team to provide excellent patient care;
- Ability to build rapport quickly and make patients feel welcome;
- A passion for work and exceptional customer service;
- Capability of functioning autonomously, and prioritising tasks within established policies, guidelines, and procedures;
- A commitment to high standards and an eye for detail;
- Great organisational skills, initiative, and time-management;
- Sound knowledge of dental procedures;
- Ability to maintain high standards of infection control;
- Competency with computers (Ultimo – easy to learn!);
- Willingness to learn basic administration duties such as answering phone calls, making appointments and processing accounts;
- Empathy, well developed communication, interpersonal skills
- Experience in dental reception is highly desirable, but not essential. We have an excellent training program and will train the right person;

About the Role
- Processing instruments and Sterilisation;
- Clinical chairside assisting with a full range of dental procedures;
- Laboratory work;
- Digital scanning;
- 3D printing;
- Stock and ordering;
- Taking/processing radiographs (Cert 4 only);
- Assisting with implant surgeries;
- Ability to maintain and implement practice policies and procedures;
- Creating a great experience for every patient and family;
Opening hours are as follows;
- Monday: 7:45am to 6:30pm
- Tuesday: 7:45 am to 6:30pm
- Wednesday: 7:45am to 6:30pm
- Thursday 7:45 am to 5:30pm
- Friday: 7:45 am to 4:00pm
An administration time is allocated daily from 12:30pm until 1pm (Monday to Thursday, no admin time on Friday) and lunch break is between 1pm until 2pm (Monday to Thursday, 12:30pm until 1:30pm Friday). Full time and Part-time staff have 4 weeks annual leave and an additional 2 weeks Leave Without Pay over the Christmas shutdown period. Longer term staff can negotiate more paid leave in lieu of pay raises.
Remuneration depends on experience and negotiation. Ideal start date depends on the candidate.

Our interview process is a two-stage process where potential candidates are selected for an informal meet and greet appointment where we show you around the practice and answer any questions you may have.
