We are excited to announce we are seeking applications to join our Interprofessional Early Careers Program in Mental Health Services. The position will be as a Social Work Graduate Grade 1.
The Organisation:
Mental Health Services, forming part of Mildura Base Public Hospital, offers a range of inpatient and community-based services for people with mental illness across the lifespan in the Northern Mallee Region. We promote and provide a work environment that embraces professional development and supports staff to maximize growth through internal and external education including Trauma Informed Care, Mental State Examinations, Psychiatric Assessment and more. About the Position:
The Interprofessional Mental HealthEarly Careers Program offers allied health and nursing professionals a fully supported learning program that is delivered within a positive and safe environment. It aims to develop new skills, knowledge, applied experience and values for early career professionals to become effective members of the multi-disciplinary Mental Health team. Elements include:
- A comprehensive orientation
- Mentor/buddy support
- Rotations within different teams/settings
- Professional development days
- A personalised learning plan and study time
- Regular 1:1 discipline specific supervision
- Group supervision program
- Discovery day opportunities to learn about other programs
- Support from Allied Health Educator
Classified under the Victorian Public Mental Health Service Enterprise Agreement :
Grade 1 position classified as Grade 1 Year 3 / $35.9026 per hour;
About You:
Applications are invited from Social Work graduates who have less than two years in professional practice OR Social Workers who have a minimum of 12 months health care experience but have not previously practiced in the clinical Mental Health setting.
Successful applicants with have an authentic desire to improve the lives of people with Mental Health conditions and to develop a career in an interprofessional setting. You will be a keen and curious learner and passionate about delivering a high standard of care to consumers, families, carers and supporters. Candidates must meet the necessary key selection criteria outlined in the relevant position descriptions.
The position is available to commence ASAP and is offered on either a full-time or 0.8 FTE, fixed term 12-month basis. This program is derived from the Royal Commission into Victoria's Mental Health system recommendations.
