Job description

Our Mobile Play2Learn is an outreach Early Childhood program that goes out into the community and supports families and children to reach their full potential. In this rewarding work environment, we need you to assist in the delivery of quality Early Childhood education and promote parent-child interaction. There’s a nice work/life balance with this position being comfortable hours across the week.

54 reasons is Australia’s leading child rights organisation – no ordinary not-for-profit.

Proudly part of the Save the Children Group and global movement, we’re here to make sure that everyone understands their rights. So that children and young people have their rights met and thrive, in all their diversity.

We champion the children, young people and families we work with. We are inspired by the curiosity and creativity of children and motivated by the love of those who care for them.

With the child’s voice at the centre, we provide quality services to children and their caregivers, advocating with them so that children develop, learn, and are connected, safe and confident. Our people are proudly local, reflective of the communities we serve - in every state and territory, and across regions, remote areas and capital cities.

Where you come in:

In this Casual position (potential workdays across Monday - Thursday), you’ll support Early Childhood development and school readiness skills, and will facilitate improved relationships between parents and children. Working across different sites as part of our mobile service, you’ll work in a team to create an environment of trust and respect with families and children. You’ll be part of our Mobile Play2Learn team and report to our Team Leader.

We have 1 role available, based in the Kilcoy region.

You will make an impact by:

  • Assisting to develop and deliver early learning programs
  • Working within a team to ensure programs are age and developmentally appropriate
  • Creating a welcoming and safe environment to encourage active participation
  • Growing an understanding of early learning amongst families and sharing your knowledge with community members

Does this sound like you?

You’re passionate about working with young children and parents and making a difference in their lives. Your sensitivity and community knowledge will see you build strong connections with families from varying cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. You’re motivated, eager to learn and not afraid to jump in feet first to help make our programs successful.

This role requires:

  • Minimum Certificate III in Children’s Services or equivalent qualification
  • Experience working with children aged 0-5 and families in a group setting
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Current valid driver’s licence

Working at 54 reasons is more than just a job.

54 Reasons is proudly part of Save the Children Australia. We are a learning organisation that invests in the development and wellbeing of our people. Our workforce is approximately 1100 people strong, and proudly diverse, whether in race, ethnicity, gender, age, disability, sexuality, cultures and beliefs.

We are creative, connected and accountable, bringing energy, guts and ideas to all we do to champion children in Australia and partner with families, communities and partners to bring about change.

Our people work from both home and office, with important moments held in-person to foster belonging and support professional development.

Other benefits include:

·       Award rate salary (Level 2.1 - $40.26 per hour) and great work life balance

·       Friendly and flexible work environment

·       Internal deployment and secondment opportunities

·       Opportunities to progress within one of Australia’s largest non-profits
