Yeronga Park Kindergarten is looking for a proactive, reliable and enthusiastic After Kindy Care Assistant Educator to support our Lead Educator in delivering our After Kindy Care program.
This position is available for an immediate start.
Our Kindy:Our kindy is a play-based, not-for-profit community kindy, affiliated with C&K. Our vision is to create “A magical and natural environment which supports and inspires children to become curious learners.”
We are a 2 Unit kindy, operating a ‘long day’ that finishes at 3:30pm and a ‘short day’ that finishes at 2:30pm. After Kindy Care operates from 2:15pm-5:30pm Monday to Friday.
Position Details:- The Assistant Educator is required from 1:45pm - 5:45pm which includes planning, set up, and pack up.
- This is a casual position during term time only (QLD state school calendar) and is subject to a probationary period of twelve weeks.
- This position is a job-share arrangement; working 3 days per week (Monday-Wednesday).
- Actual hours may differ each day, depending on bookings and service requirements, as directed by the AKC Lead Educator and/or Director.
- Remuneration will be based on the YPK Enterprise Agreement 2023, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Ideal applicants will have:
- Certificate III in Children’s Services (applicants enrolled in Certificate III or higher qualification welcome to apply)
- Prior experience in an Early Childhood setting or community kindergarten is desirable.
- Current working with children check (Blue Card).
- Current first Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis Management Certificate
As the Assistant Educator of our After Kindy Care program you will:
- Support the AKC Lead Educator in developing and leading this service in accordance with YPK and C&K standards and policies.
- Have the ability to, or willingness to learn about, documenting and assessing children's learning, behaviour, and development using C&K’s Curriculum Approach, the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines and the Early Years Learning Framework.
- Have a passion for diversity and inclusion, treating all children with dignity and respect, embracing each child’s unique family and background, maintaining an environment that is inclusive and respectful of child and family cultures, values and differences.
