POSITION DESCRIPTION
We are currently seeking Early Childhood Educators (Diploma) to join our well-established services across Newcastle, Maitland and the Hunter regions.
These opportunities will be offered on a permanent full-time basis. Candidates who hold an approved Certificate III level qualification in Children's Services and currently studying towards obtaining their Diploma will be considered as (working towards) if they have a suitable amount of experience.
EXPERIENCE/CRITERIA
- Knowledge of the stages of physical, emotional, cognitive, social and cultural development of children
- The capability to engage children through activities and experiences appropriate for age groups / stages of development
- Knowledge of health, hygiene and the nutrition needs of children
- The ability to communicate effectively with children, families and staff
- Experience in / or interest in additional needs / challenging behaviours
- A commitment to your own ongoing professional development in Early Childhood
- The ability to undertake the physical requirements involved within an Early Childhood setting
Demonstrated understanding of:
- National Quality Framework (NQF);
- Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF);
- Child Protection and Mandatory Reporting and Workplace Health and Safety issues and practices
QUALIFICATIONS
- An approved Diploma level qualification for the purposes of the education and care services, national law and regulations OR an approved Certificate III level qualification in Children's Services as identified by the Australian Children's Education and Care Quality Authority (candidates currently studying towards obtaining their Diploma will be considered if they have a suitable amount of experience).
- Child protection qualification
- Current First Aid Certificate, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Management training
- Working with Children Check verification number
