The Chinese Australian Early Childhood Centre is an established Early Childhood education and care service, situated in Mawson, ACT, that has been educating and caring for children for 40 years.
We are seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic Mandarin speaking Early Childhood Teacher to inspire, lead a team, work with families, developing and implementing a rich pedagogical program for preschool children.
Our Philosophy aims to promote the learning and use of the Mandarin language and a greater understanding of Chinese culture.
Qualifications & experience
- An approved ACECQA Early Learning Teaching Qualification preferably a Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood
- Mandarin language
- experience working in childcare setting.
- Organisational and teamwork skills.
- Very good written and verbal communication skills.
- Current first aid certificate with anaphylaxis an asthma training.
- Working with Vulnerable People check.
- Good understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework.

Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver a curriculum based on the Service’s philosophy whilst following National Quality Standards and National Regulations.
- Create a positive learning environment, including intentional play-based learning provocations
- Observe and record children's growth development and behaviour using electronic portfolios.
- Help develop teaching goals for the centre and its educators.
- Develop strategies to guide positive children's behaviours.
- Build good open communication with children, families, and staff.
- Help develop teaching goals for the centre and its educators.
- Have input into the Centre’s Quality Improvement Plan and Reconciliation Action Plan.
