The Hills Little Learners is small a boutique family-orientated early education centre located in Seven Hills. Our centre prides itself on providing a stimulating and dynamic educational program which is derived from the interests and learning needs of each individual child. The service is licensed for 28 children per day and caters for children aged 0-5.
We are seeking either a qualified Diploma or qualified/working towards Early Childhood Teacher to take on the role of Educational Leader of our service and support us in continuous improvement in high quality education for our children through dedication and innovation. This will be a full-time role and must be available between the services operating hours of 7am-6pm.
As the Educational Leader, your role will involve:
- Lead the development and implementation of an effective educational program, pedagogy, and practice
- Lead critical reflection within the centre and support our ongoing improvement
- Consult and collaborate with the Director and team of educators to develop and confirm approaches to educational programs, practice, and documentation; that includes assessment and an understanding of children's learning and development
- Implementing the Early Years Learning Framework for individual children
- Provide effective leadership to educators and actively contribute to the development of strong team skills.
- Develop trusting relationships with families through regular, honest and open communication regarding the care of their children
- Being an advocate for our service, for children and the profession - as outlined in the ECA Code of Ethics
The successful candidate will:
- Either Hold an Early childhood Teaching degree or be working towards. (ACECQA approved)
- Hold a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (ACECQA approved)
- Highly developed program and curriculum planning and evaluation skills, with a sound knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standards (NQS)
- Have strong knowledge and understanding of play-based learning
- Be dynamic, forward thinking and be eager to take on board new concepts and think ‘outside the box’
- Have a passion for planning and implementing developmentally appropriate (needs and interest based) programs, value the child as strong, capable and resilient.
- Be a positive, confident person who will develop relationships with families, children, colleagues and the wider community
- Effective time management skills
- Value a collaborative team approach
- Hold a current Working with Children Check
- Have current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certificates (or willingness to undertake)
- Be passionate about the important role of Educational Leader
