Early Years Advisor

BPA Children’s Services (BPA) is a not-for-profit organisation that manages Kindergartens and Long Day Care centres in the Western suburbs of Melbourne.  We are one of the largest providers of Early Childhood education and care services in Victoria, delivering quality programs that meet the needs of each child and the wider community.  We are a group of committed educators who embed equity, access, cultural relevance and safety within our programs, because every child deserves to be set up for success in life.

We are seeking a full time Early Years Advisor for a fixed term contract until May 2025.  The Early Years Advisor position provides leadership, advice and guidance to operational services in the delivery of high quality and inclusive early childhood education to children and families. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Leading a team of Nominated Supervisors, Centre Coordinators and Educational Leaders and holding them accountable to deliver high quality education programs within agreed sustainability indicators and service standards.
• Developing and sustaining effective relationships with internal and key external stakeholders, with a focus on delivering high quality education and care.
• Monitor education programs to ensure pedagogy and service planning is in line with BPA's curriculum guidelines. 
• Supporting Nominated Supervisors to ensure a high level of compliance with the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations.
• Conduct staff probationary reviews at 6 and 12 weeks of employee commencing employment. 
• Conduct performance appraisals bi-annually (and when necessary) and address performance issues with staff in a timely and supportive manner.
• Manage employee relations issues and work to resolve matters in a timely manner. 
• Other duties as outlined in the position description.

• Valid Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) Registration.
• Valid Driver’s License to drive in Australia.
• A minimum of 5 years experience as a Coordinator or an Educational Leader in Kindergarten or Long Day Care.
• Advanced knowledge and practical understanding of the Education and Care Services National Law 2010 and Regulations 2011. 
• Thorough understanding of the National Quality Framework and Quality Improvement Planning (QIP). 
• Sound knowledge of both the National and Victorian Early Years Learning Frameworks.
• Sound knowledge of legislative requirements and best practice relating to the delivery of Early Years programs, services and initiatives. 
• Ability to lead, develop, motivate and empower staff to deliver quality programs. 
• Highly developed oral, written and presentation skills. 
• Ability to collaborate, influence and negotiate with stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes. 
• Ability to manage time, set priorities, plan and organise own work to ensure deadlines are met.
