Your new role

We have an exciting opportunity for an Early Years Support Officer (administration officer) to join our Early Years team, working within our Maternal and Child Health Service.

As our new EYSO you will make a difference daily by providing general customer service and administrative support across the local Knox community and broader MCH team.

Key responsibilities will include answering phone calls, booking and rescheduling clients, monitoring a shared email inbox. You will report directly to the MCH Service Coordinator and work collaboratively within the broader KCC Early Years team. 

This is a permanent part time role, weekly hours to be negotiated, based at Knox City Council Civic Centre.

This is a Band 4 classified role, remuneration will be $71,212.94 to $75849.47 paid pro rata for part time ($35.04 to $38.39 per hour), plus superannuation in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee.

What you will need to thrive

The key selection criteria for this role are:

  • Experience in administration and business systems, preferably within a local government setting;
  • Demonstrated understanding on the delivery of Early Year Services;
  • Advanced Microsoft Office 365 knowledge. Child Development Information System (CDIS) experience would be an advantage;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • A demonstrated commitment to providing excellent customer service supported with experience and the ability to positively handle a busy office environment;
  • Proven experience of working in a busy and varied position with the ability to respond to competing priorities and meet strict deadlines;
  • Demonstrated ability to actively and positively participate in change management processes.
