The Role: We are seeking a Part Time (0.8FTE), Fixed Term, Grade 2Speech Pathologist. Commencing March 2024. RCH Early Childhood Intervention Service (ECIS) supports children with developmental delay and/or neurodevelopmental disorders from birth to school entry. The ECIS team includes Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists, Physiotherapists, and a Clinical Psychologist. ECIS is part of the Department of Neuro This Speech Pathology role provides speech pathology assessment and intervention services to support families using a family centred and strengths-based approach. To be successful in this role: Essential: Hold a degree in Speech Pathology from an accredited university. Be eligible for membership of Speech Pathology Australia and meet the requirements of the SPA professional self-regulation program. Uphold the SPA Code of Ethics. Clinical experience as a Speech Pathologist in paediatrics. Desirable: A minimum of 3 years of experience. Previous experience working in a transdisciplinary early childhood intervention setting or paediatric health care setting. Previous experience in provision of clinical education to Speech Pathology students Previous experience working within the NDIS Knowledge and/or training in The Hanen Centre programs Key Selection Criteria: Demonstrate a flexible approach to working with families and staff using a strengths-based approach. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a transdisciplinary team. Demonstrated ability to implement effective caseload management strategies. Demonstrate the ability to work in the role of a key worker - assessment and intervention. Well-developed speech pathology assessment and intervention skills specific to the early childhood population Demonstrated ability to build and maintain working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. Ability to educate patients/parents/carers/team and members of the wider community to minimise risk and promote successful outcomes in client care. Ability to supervise Grade one speech pathology staff and students.
