Downer acts as the facility manager at The Royal Adelaide Hospital (RAH). The RAH is the largest, busiest and most technologically advanced hospital in Australia with 800 single in-patient rooms, including 100 same-day beds and 80,000 same-day and overnight patient admissions per year.
About the Role
Performing in the role of ED Operational Supervisor, you will be responsible for coordinating Patient Support Services and Cleaning and Waste resources to support timely service delivery within the Emergency Department at the Royal Adelaide Hospital.
To be successful in this position, you will be a well organised, people-orientated individual who is passionate about providing exceptional customer service and encouraging a positive, inclusive team environment. You will have the ability to monitor outcomes whilst providing hands-on support and guidance to assist the PSS and Cleaning and Waste team to deliver an efficient, compliant and patient-focused service.
This is a full-time Fixed term contract commencing ASAP and ending 19th October 2024, you must be available to work AM Shifts 0800 to 1606, Mon-Fri
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Providing effective guidance to the PSSA and Cleaning and Waste Team by supporting and offering direction and support
- Shift planning, and providing task assignment/allocation
- Monitoring attendance and timekeeping; ensuring adequate staff coverage on shifts
- Delivering and leading the team to provide a high quality service in line with set objectives
- Communicating effectively with clinical team members and PSSA/Cleaning and Waste team to foster an environment of trust and in a manner which promotes understanding of effective work outcomes and
- Maintaining patient and staff confidentiality at all times
Skills and Experience
- Cert III in Health Services Assistance or health Support Services or equivalent is desirable
- Experience working within a healthcare environment is advantageous
- Strong people skills and the ability to positively drive team culture
- Basic working knowledge of the MS suite of products
- High level of organisation and prioritisation skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written
- Proven time management and organisational skills
- Displays a willingness & flexible approach to change and change in work practices
- Displays a positive attitude and approach to leading a team
- Strong interpersonal and analytical skills
- The ability to develop and maintain strong internal and external relationships
