Capable and organised assistant wanted at Allen & Unwin, Australia’s largest independent book publishing house, to support several publishers and a busy editorial department.
To thrive in this role you will be highly organised with good attention to detail. You will have excellent communication skills and an ability to prioritise and juggle tasks. You will be computer literate and ready to tackle new computer systems, particularly Excel and Microsoft Word.
This is a full-time, Sydney based, entry level position that would be ideal for a recent graduate interested in learning about book publishing. As a Publishing Assistant your duties will include database management, handling author and agent enquiries, contract management, liaising with internal departments, organising travel and meetings, market research and minor editing tasks. As the Editorial Assistant you will assist members of the department with various tasks, including photocopying, scanning, couriers and permissions.
