About the role
We are seeking the services of a motivated, capable, and experienced Educational Support Aid who has a true passion for Horticulture for our cohort who consists of students with mild intellectual and learning challenges.
The primary objective of the Educational Support Aid role is to work collaboratively with National Food Institute training staff by supporting them to enhance the learning outcomes of students.
You will possess a customer-service mindset where relationships are valued, policies and procedures are observed, be physically able to meet the demands of the students, and possess excellent time-management skills.
We aim for excellence in training and care. This role would involve assisting students in their course work either in class, in a small group, or on a 1:1 basis. A high staff to student ratio ensures a safe and effective learning environment for our cohort.
An immediate start is available for the successful applicant.
This is a casual position 8.30am-4pm 3 (possibly 4) days per week.
As an Educational Support Aid with experience working with special needs students, you will embrace the opportunity to support our dedicated training staff. The successful applicant will have a strong desire to work collaboratively to support students with diverse and complex needs.
We are also very keen to upskill our successful Education Support applicant. If you have the desire to one day become a Trainer and Assessor in the Horticulture space, then we want to hear from you.

Skills and experience
To be successful in this role you will need:
Relevant work experience supporting students with special needs.
An understanding of teaching and learning support strategies and the ability to implement these as required.
Demonstrated high-level written and verbal communication skills and high-level interpersonal skills including a capacity to develop constructive relationships with students, and other training and support staff.
Demonstrated ability and experience in understanding the unique nature of providing high-quality educational experiences to young people with multiple and complex needs, including those marginalised from school and society through trauma, abuse, and neglect.
