AddressOur Federal Government client is seeking an experienced capital works Project Manager. This opportunity is a S26 Transfer opportunity. The successful candidate must hold a Baseline Security Clearance and be Canberra based.

- $113,631 to $119,891 annually + 15.4% super contribution (paid annual leave and paid sick leave)
The role's primary task is to manage major projects and complex contracts across the Territories. The Project manager role will be responsible for the performance management of at least one other staff member, including recruitment (when required) and management.
The Project Director's Key duties include:
- Managing contractors and consultants for the provision of project management services, design services, procurement services, construction works and other expert advice on a range of issues relating to infrastructure projects;
- Overseeing and managing complex construction and consultant contracts, often remotely; and
- Ensuring that projects and services delivered are consistent with the broader asset management system, project governance systems, and the capital works program.
- Proactively managing, monitoring and reporting on program and project schedules, quality, risks, issues, interdependencies, scope and key performance indicators
- Monitoring client and stakeholder (internal and external) satisfaction and constructively managing issues to achieve project objectives within tight timeframes
- Providing project and operational support, including monitoring and reporting on project plans, milestones, and deliverables, to ensure time, cost and quality outcomes are in line with approved project plans
- Working collaboratively within the project team and engage with other Commonwealth agencies and external stakeholders including consultants and contractors
- Taking responsibility for meeting objectives and progressing projects, monitoring and reporting progress against milestones

- Strong administration skills and high attention to detail;
- Excellent communication skills - written and verbal;
- Energetic, enthusiastic and keen;
- Ability to work at high tempo for short periods and complete tasks on short notice;
- An understanding of the security requirements for working in a Commonwealth Department - email classification systems, document security classifications (can be OTJ training);
- Proven experience in any of the following: program management, contract management, project planning and/or delivery of capital works projects.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan and manage your workload, select methods that resolve issues as they arise, or seek guidance when required.
- Ability to lead and support a team through complex issues and project requirements in a fast-paced environment.
