Treasury’s Integration Unit are looking for an EL1 Digital WorkspacesTeam Leadas well as an EL1 Digital WorkspacesTechnical Lead. The roles work within the Information Services Branch of the Small Business, Housing, Corporate and Law Group. 

The key duties of the position include:

The Digital Workspaces Team’s main responsibility is the Department’s SharePoint Online tenancy, but also extends into the Power Platform and other associated technologies. 

It is an exciting time for the Digital Workspaces Team. We have successfully transitioned from on-premises SharePoint to SharePoint Online, incorporating a new information architecture during the migration. We are now turning our focus to developing the exciting collaboration and workflow capabilities of the environment. 

The Digital Workspaces Team consists of 5 members including the Team Lead and Technical Lead at the EL1 levels. The team handles all aspects of SharePoint Online, including administration, governance, and development of the platform. 

You’ll work closely with the other Team Leads in the Integration Unit in a supportive and collegial environment. You’ll report to the Director of the Integration Unit.

Desirable Qualifications / Experience

The EL1 Technical Lead will have:

  • At least 5 years’ experience developing in the SharePoint environment with SharePoint Online development featuring in your skillset
  • Strong practical experience in SharePoint Online - configuring, administration, development, and deployment of solutions
  • Strong, demonstrated experience with SPFx Framework for SharePoint development
  • Azure development
  • Strong knowledge in Microsoft 365/SharePoint Online best practices and their application in production environments
  • Experience in developing end to end solutions using the MS Power Platform
  • Strong practical experience with PowerShell scripting, Visual Studio/Visual Studio Code and Microsoft DevOps.

The EL1 Team Lead will have:
  • Relevant practical experience in SharePoint Online - configuring, administration, development, and deployment of solutions
  • A demonstrated ability to efficiently manage a team, effectively manage a support queue and extensive experience engaging with senior executive in a VIP support role
  • Demonstrated knowledge in Microsoft 365/SharePoint Online best practices and their application in production environments
  • Practical experience with PowerShell scripting
  • Experience with leading a team or having the responsibility of direct reports
  • An understanding of how information architecture can impact on SharePoint Online configuration and customisation
  • Due to the size of the team, you will be required to act as both a developer and a Team Leader, managing your resources to deliver project and BAU activities, while contributing to the technical development of the platform

Both the Technical Lead and Team Lead will also be expected to have:
  • An in-depth knowledge of SharePoint functionalities and troubleshooting, enabling effective identification and resolution of issues raised by end users, as well as proactive measures to enhance system performance and user experience
  • Strong communication skills to interact with end users, providing clear and concise instructions, updates, and resolutions. The ability to translate technical information into user-friendly language is essential for effective support in a SharePoint environment
  • Experience migrating content in SharePoint Online.
Eligibility

Employees of the Treasury are required to be Australian Citizens and must hold a current Security Clearance or successfully complete a Clearance prior to commencement.
