About the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission
The NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission (the NDIS Commission) is an independent agency established on 1 July 2018 to improve the quality and safety of NDIS supports and services. The Commission is the dedicated national regulator of NDIS service providers in Australia and a non-corporate entity under the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013.
Corporate Division
The Corporate Division is responsible for delivering all corporate service activities across the Commission, and for advising on and supporting the strategic direction of the Commission. The Corporate Division consists of the following functions: Property, Security, Finance, Procurement, HR, ICT, Internal Audit, Corporate Support, Information Managaement
Key duties of the role
Reporting to the Assistant Director, People Strategy, the HR Policy Officer is responsible for researching and developing policy guidelines to support all APS employees, managers and senior leaders across the NDIS Commission. This role contributes to the development, evaluation on a range of approaches and initiatives to support business as usual and the Commission’s strategic goals.
The HR Policy Officer is an integral team member, fostering effective communication, information exchange and cooperative work arrangements across the NDIS Commission while demonstrating a high standard of integrity and ethical behaviour.
The HR Policy Officer will:
⦁ be accountable to ensure they have knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and the NDIS Commission’s policy requirements;
⦁ draft HR policy documents for review and publication;
⦁ contribute to the review, planning and implementation of HR policies and procedures;
⦁ liaise and communicate with key stakeholders and coordinate working groups, committee meetings, and stakeholder consultations to support HR policy development and implementation;
⦁ undertake research and collate information for reporting, monitoring and evaluation purposes to contribute to the achievement of HR policy outcomes and to develop new HR policies; and
⦁ prepare and review policy advice to ensure alignment with policy directions.
