Federal Government Agency seeking an EL1 Intelligence Team Leader to join them on a temporary basis.

This is an independent statutory agency, established by the Australian Federal Government, responsible for supporting hundreds of thousands of individuals with significant and permanent disabilities, along with their families and carers. The position itself sits in the Fraud Fusion Taskforce which has been established to improve payment integrity across the scheme and enable intelligence sharing, identification and response by the agency, and it’s partner agencies, including law enforcement and regulators.
Your new role
The EL1 Intelligence Team Leader is accountable under broad direction to undertake very complex work that delivers quality outcomes across the functions of the organisation. Responsibilities include:
- Utilising a Diploma of Government (Investigation), or its equivalent, as set out in Public Services Training Package (PSP04) to lead and coordinate the planning and production of strategic intelligence outputs and outcomes.
- Supporting the response function of the team including, addressing requests for information, responding to senior management and ministerial requests and assessing incoming matters determining the required treatment.
- Leading and coordinating intelligence projects, producing a range of high quality strategic, tactical and operational intelligence products informing and impacting decision-making for internal and external stakeholders, targeting organised fraud in Government programs.
- Liaising with other Agencies, sharing information and intelligence, producing briefing papers including link charts and reports.
- Producing reference and training material to support the Agency in relation to intelligence support and management.
- Leading a team of Intelligence Coordination Officers that provide specialist advice to fraud investigation teams and partner agencies.
- Ability to manage the information and intelligence cycle and apply structure to analytical techniques.
- Ability to manage a small team in a high tempo environment.
- Familiarity with intelligence gathering systems and processes.
- Familiarity of the National intelligence and criminal investigations community is highly desirable.
- Australian Citizenship is a requirement to be successful in this role.
- To be successful in this role you must have, or be able to obtain, an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency security clearance at Negative Vetting Level 1.
This is a 12 month contract position paying $602.55 daily plus super. The office is located in Surry Hills with flexible working arrangements in place.
