About the branch
The Intelligence and Information Systems (IIS) Division provides critical ICT infrastructure, systems and services for the ACIC and its partner agencies in support of its strategic purpose and mission. The Business Systems Delivery (BSD) Branch is responsible for the delivery of all ICT projects to uplift or enhance the technology capabilities in collaboration with ACIC’s national, international, jurisdictional and industry partners. BSD applies systems-thinking, incremental delivery practices and close engagement with the users and the business owner to discover opportunities, design solutions and implement systems that meet the needs of the agency and our customers.
About the role
The Senior Specialist Systems Integration is responsible for the development and maintenance of the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission’s (ACIC) service interfaces between the ACIC and its partner agencies as well as designing integration between ACIC business systems, using ACIC integration patterns.
Our ideal candidate
- Designs, documents and implements service interfaces, integration logic and XML schema design for messaging solutions
- Works well with application development teams to ensure broad solutions that maximise interoperability, reusability, service capacity and capability to end users.
- Investigates and resolves complex integration and messaging problems.
- Develops and maintains performance, monitoring, logging, audit and testing tools associated with messaging and integration
- Actively builds and maintains productive stakeholder relationships, including providing advice and guidance to team members on more complex messaging and integration requirements and solutions.
- Ideally the Senior Specialist Systems Integration will possess tertiary or industry qualifications in information technology or a related field and 5 years’ experience working as a senior member of an integration team.
- Experience operating in a law enforcement or national security context will also be beneficial for the occupant of this position.
- If this role is being advertised as ongoing and non-ongoing, it may be offered as ongoing or non-ongoing subject to operational requirements and/or candidate preference. Where a non-ongoing position is offered, the role will be filled for a specified term of up to 18 months. A specified term may be extended up to a maximum period of 3 years.
