Our client is seeking to engage a EL1 WEB Accessibility Advisor.
Location: Canberra, ACT
Contract Length: Until 30/06/2024
Eligibility/Security Requirement: Successful applicant will be required to obtain a cleared police check
Requirements
The Specified Personnel will be responsible for the following in the delivery of the review and rectification of Flight Standards Branch documents.
- familiarize themselves with style and structure of the documents owned by FSB within the document catalogue
- utilizing the accessibility bar in Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat Professional, review the documents for Web Content Accessibility
- rectifying all documents that are identified as not meeting Web Content Accessibility Guidelines
- liaising with Subject Matter Experts within the Branch clarification on technical matters, as required
- liaising with Subject Matter Experts within the Branch clarification on technical matters, as required
- review and edit other writers’ material in a constructive manner
- time permitting provide generalized knowledge transfer to the Branch of the requirements of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines Web Content Accessibility Guidelines
- liaising with Subject Matter Experts within the Branch clarification on technical matters, as required
- ensure all hardcopy and electronic documents are filed in accordance with approved records management processes, security requirements and document catalogue procedures
- promoting workplace safety, equity and diversity, participative management and environmental management in the workplace and act in accordance with Agency’s values and behaviors.
Candidates must meet the following requirements:
- To be eligible for employment with the Agency, they must be an Australian citizen or a permanent resident
- A National Police Check is required for all Agency candidates prior to commencing work.
Our ideal candidate
- Experience with the application of digital access requirements, specifically conformance of WCAG level AA in both document development and publishing.
- High level of WEB Accessibility skills, for example identify accessibility issues and remediating issues in both Word and Adobe Acrobat
- High level of organizational and time management skills
- High level of attention to detail
- High level skills using MS Office, including high proficiency in Word and Adobe Acrobat Professional
- Able to exercise strong discretion and work independently.
Desirable attributes
- Experience a regulatory environment.
