About The Role
As a Law Interpretation Director, you will lead teams and manage a highly complex set of resources to achieve key strategic goals, quality outcomes and deliver results. Your leadership will encourage ongoing capability development through coaching and mentoring others, providing performance feedback, conflict resolution and encouraging career development.
You will contribute to technical excellence by assisting and guiding others to provide high quality advice. You'll plan, co-ordinate and deliver complex, technical or sensitive projects that impact strategic or operational outcomes for the agency.
You will produce high-level policy advice by utilising your extensive understanding of legislative, regulatory and compliance frameworks to engage in complex problem solving and issues management.
Our ideal candidate:
- Uses sound judgment to manage and resolve complex tax and technical issues
- Expertly interprets and applies tax and superannuation laws and policy
- Guides, mentors and builds staff capability using highly-developed leadership and management skills
- Leads the shaping of tax and superannuation policy and law with a deep understanding of government and administrative environment
- Provides strategic direction to ensure delivery for the ato, government, and community
- Communicates, interacts, and negotiates on complex issues with confidence and clarity.
This recruitment process is being used to fill both ongoing and non-ongoing positions. Non-ongoing positions may be offered for up to 18 months.
Non-ongoing vacancies have the potential to become ongoing. These non-ongoing positions may become ongoing within the next 12 months. Should a position become ongoing then the merit pool established through this selection process may be used to fill the vacancy. This vacancy is only open to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants.
