About the role

The selected candidate will be responsible for the successful planning, management, execution, and commissioning/completion of strategic capital electrical and instrumentation programs for the Plants. This should be done in strict adherence to Australian engineering codes and standards.

Additionally, the role involves close collaboration with the Production, Maintenance, and T&I departments to ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of critical equipment.

About You

  • You will have a Bachelor's Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
  • Your degree if not obtained in Australia, must be recognized by Engineers Australia.

Substantial postgraduate experience and profound knowledge in the following areas:

  • Proficient in project management of capital projects for plant E&I systems.
  • Experienced in HV/LV Switchgear MCC, HV Distribution, Transformer, and Packaged equipment. Proficient in HV maintenance management systems.
  • Robust working knowledge and experience of current applicable Australian E&I standards and Codes.
  • Preparation of technical specifications, scope of works, and associated capital project documentation.
  • Effective management of work scope packages within the project budget and schedule requirements.
  • CPEng or eligibility for CPEng accreditation leading to NER Registration will be advantageous.
  • High level of organization, time, and project management skills with a proven ability to multitask and operate effectively in a high-pressure environment.
  • Strong English communication skills (both verbal and written), coupled with excellent stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to work autonomously but also thrive in a dynamic team environment.
  • You must also have full working rights to work in Australia

Key Responsibilities of the Senior Asset Improvement Engineer (E&I) include:

  • Provide technical leadership to guide and support E&I capital projects.
  • Act as the custodian for plant governance and compliance regarding E&I statutory equipment, methods, and processes.
  • Formulate and manage medium-to-long-term E&I asset management plans to accomplish Business objectives (SQLCT).
  • Develop, oversee, and maintain systems, processes, and procedures related to E&I within the plant.
  • Prepare and proficiently administer budgets for E&I projects/programs, identifying opportunities for cost reduction.
  • Conduct life cycle cost analysis to determine the optimal whole-of-life asset strategy.
  • Take the lead in preparing and participating in risk assessment workshops, and facilitate Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for major plant E&I issues.
