Vector Lifting is a Perth based company, specialising in the design and manufacture of material handling machinery including cranes, winches and railway lifting equipment. The RoleYou will have a creative approach, with the ability to think ‘outside the box’ when following the complete equipment life cycle, from concept development to commissioning. As we build all equipment on-site you will see your designs become reality.
This is a Full Time Permanent Position, based in our Cockburn Central office.
The key responsibilities for this role include, however are not limited to:
- Collaboration with Project Team to develop new and customised equipment.
- Design of power and control systems in accordance to Australian and International Standards.
- Design of power distribution including maximum demand calculations, protection sizing, cable sizing, and cable schedules.
- Electrical component sizing and selection.
- Creating detailed electrical schematics, panel layouts, material parts lists and other associated drawings using AutoCAD.
- Liaising with suppliers and equipment procurement
- Support and liaison with in-house electrical manufacturing team during the manufacture of products.
- Assistance or leadership of factory testing and commissioning of manufactured products.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or an electrical trade qualification with extensive experience as an Electrical Designer.
- 5+ years' experience in a similar role.
- Experience in power system design, including Main Switchboards, Motor Control Centres, and PLC panels.
- Excellent knowledge of Australian Standards.
- High proficiency with AutoCAD.
- Ability to multitask and problem solve.
- The desire and ability to implement new design concepts for further development of products.
- Ability to work unsupervised and achieve agreed outcomes and time frames.
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
- Hands on electrical experience such as equipment manufacture, commissioning or fault finding.
- PLC development and programming experience.
- Experience with mechanical design and the integration of electrical power and control systems.
