The Role
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to join our Distribution Design team at the Burswood Head Office for the position of Graduate Electrical Engineer. The primary purpose of this role is to drive and deliver safe and sustainable Electrical Engineering for mining and utility projects.
Our highly experienced team and various projects will provide you with the environment and support you need to learn and grow as an engineer. Opportunities will be varied and plenty, but may include undertaking the following tasks,
- Developing in-depth knowledge of the electrical distribution network design standards, processes and systems.
- Overhead and underground electrical HV/LV distribution network system design.
- Equipment selection and calculations.
- Substation transformer, HV and LV switchgear design.
- Participate in site investigation activities.
- Project engineering and construction support.
- Assist with project delivery, safety, and quality.
- Previous discussions and power generation design experience looked on favourably.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Be a recent graduate or be in your final year of study in the field of Electrical Engineering.
- Possess a current driver’s licence.
- An enthusiasm to learn and seize unique opportunity to gain a well-rounded experience on a technical career path under the supervision and mentorship of senior engineers.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing work requirements and varying workloads.
- Ability to work cooperatively and effectively within the team and the organisation.
- Effective communication skills with an ability to produce high quality design drawings and deliverables.
- Effective time management and ability to plan and manage assigned design tasks and take responsibility for delivering outcomes.
- Be willing to attend site from time to time for data collection, asset assessments, inspections and commissioning support.
- Possess demonstrated experience with AutoCAD/MicroStation design software (desirable).
- Prior demonstrated experience in an engineering environment will be highly regarded.
