You will apply broad and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to project engineering and make decisions independently concerning problems within the discipline on the project.Your responsibilities will include:

• Evaluates, selects, and applies standard Electrical Engineering methods, techniques, procedures and criteria for a small size project or assignment in support of a global business unit or staff group to include the preparation of original designs layouts, details, drawings and specifications.
• Designs, develops, modifies, and evaluates components and processes used in the generation, manipulation, transmission and storage of electricity utilizing relevant Procedures, design standards and guides.
• Prepares or assists in preparation of conceptual studies, designs, reports or proposals
• Coordinates Electrical Engineering efforts in assigned areas with specialty groups, engineering disciplines, the client, vendor, contractors, construction and other functional groups
• Provides technical assistance to other electrical personnel and will interact with project functions, the customer, and regulatory agency personnel in the resolution of complex regulatory issues
• Provides assistance to project and construction management in identifying and complying with project electrical requirements and in addressing issues as they arise during project execution
• Mentors and assists more junior electrical team members
• Completes electrical documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance
• Selects components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability

About You:

• A recognized degree in Electrical Engineering discipline, from an accredited college or university.
• Relevant work experience of minimum 7 years in FEED, proposal & detailed engineering preferably in an EPC industry for large industrial plants, power projects, utilities, oil and gas plants.
• Have demonstrated experience in the Australian Mining and Metals industry.
• Knowledge of electrical system studies using ETAP/EasyPower software and conversant with short circuit, load flow, motor starting & voltage drop calculations, main single line diagram, protection & metering diagrams, relay setting & protection coordination of the system, Emergency Diesel Generator Sizing, Underground cable sizing, Grounding.
• Should have worked on equipment sizing, specifications, MR preparation, technical bid evaluation and vendor print reviews of various electrical equipment like Switchyard, Generator Step-Up Transformer, Busduct, MV & LV switchgear, MCCs, power & distribution transformers, DC systems / UPS, Cables, generator circuit breaker, bus duct, lighting fixtures.
• Review of 3D Model in S3D and Autodesk Revit using SPR or Navisworks and be a stakeholder in 30%, 50% and 90% Model Reviews with Client, Vendor and Sub Contractors.
• Preparation of three Line Diagrams & Logic Diagrams for Generator, Generator Step-up Transformer, Unit Auxiliary Transformer, Generator Circuit Breaker, Switchyard, Overall Single Line Diagrams.
• Should be conversant with electrical layouts like raceways, lighting, grounding & lightning protection, Switchyard layouts etc.
