As Electrical Design Engineer you will report to the Group Electrical Manager. Working as part of a high performing team, you will produce drawings and designs as per client standards and design guidelines in coordination with other Team Leaders and Project Managers. You will be responsible for working with project team members including lead project engineers and drafters to complete the design. You will be responsible for:
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, termination wiring and scope of works to produce detailed design drawings in accordance with client standards.
- Delegation of design requirements to a Drafter, and subsequent review of completed drawings.
- Development of power calculations to determine loads.
- Development of detailed engineering report for electrical switchboards to AS/NZ IEC 61439.
- Responsible for the on-time delivery of the allocated work schedules.
- Ensure the safety of designs through application of specialist expertise, standards, reviews, risk assessments.
- Work within a team to deliver results within allocated time, budget, and quality constraints.
About you
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Electrical Engineering Degree with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in Electrical Design of automation control systems.
- RPEQ essential.
- ELV/LV design experience an advantage.
- Strong experience with AutoCAD and familiarity with eplan.
- Understanding of AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 3008, AS/NZ 61439 Wiring Rules and Electrical Regulations.
- Understand electrical wiring and panel building based on ELV and LV designs.
- Switchboard / Control Panel design and manufacturing experience will be an advantage.
- Excellent computer skills and written/verbal communication skills.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Full Australian working rights.
- Understanding of multidiscipline requirements.
