Instrument/Electrical Technician
A leading energy company is looking for an experienced and qualified Instrument/Electrical Technician to join their team at the Cavern facility. This is a permanent full-time role with a competitive salary and benefits package.
Your new role
As an Instrument/Electrical Technician, you will be responsible for:
- Performing routine maintenance of a wide range of electronic, pneumatic and hydraulic instrumentation
- Diagnosing and repairing instrumentation and control faults, as well as electrical equipment and control circuits
- Working with distributed control systems, programmable logic controls and emergency shutdown control systems, including process control software programming
- Maintaining a high standard of maintenance and recording results in a computerised maintenance management system.
- Adhering to the site safety management system and following all relevant policies and procedures
- Being available for emergency call-outs and standby
What you’ll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Instrument Technician/Electrical fitter trade qualifications with a full electrical licence
- Thorough understanding and knowledge of modern field instrumentation, process control systems and emergency shutdown systems
- Thorough understanding and knowledge of electrical high voltage and low voltage distribution systems
- Hazardous area certificate to work on and inspect hazardous area equipment
- Industrial experience, preferably in the oil and gas or petro-chemical industry
- Computer literacy and proficiency in using relevant software applications
- High level of energy and enthusiasm, with the ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team
- The ability to work under considerable pressure and meet deadlines, results oriented
- Excellent communication skills, flexibility and problem-solving skills
