Job description

Electrical License Assessments are a vital, rigorous process to ensure all aspiring licensed electrical workers are appropriately qualified and skilled to produce quality work in a manner which protects work mates, the community and the tradesperson.

Assessing the knowledge and capabilities of aspiring Licensed electrical workers therefore is meaningful work which will help meet Victoria’s and indeed, Australia’s significant demand for a skilled energy workforce well into the future.

Future Energy Skills is an Energy Safe Victoria (ESV) approved and trusted assessment organisation and is Victoria’s clearly leading provider. In various brand iterations, Future Energy Skills (FES) has performed assessments for over 29 years and is a secure, financially sound business backed by Australian parent organisations with a combined history of service of over 200+ years in Australia. It has an excellent reputation and track record and is on the threshold of significant, planned expansion to meet demand for its assessment, training, and advisory services.

The Role

To meet the demand for its assessment services, Future Energy Skills requires additional suitably qualified, and motivated individuals to join its established, respected, and supportive License Assessment Team.

Working within the established Energy Safe Victoria licensing assessment framework with established FES processes, resources, and support of the Assessment team colleagues, you will work with a high degree of autonomy. Your responsibilities will include preparation and conduct of assessments to a high standard which requires sound knowledge, time management, decision making abilities, while exercising an appropriate degree of insight and balanced judgement. 

In addition, you will engage with ESV and the energy industry to assist in the development, moderation, and validation of license assessment resources.

About You

If you have reached that point in your own electrotechnology/energy career were sharing your knowledge, experience, and desire to help aspiring licensed electrical workers progress in their career to become fully qualified and licensed tradespersons, in a value driven and growing enterprise, we would like to hear from you. You will need to hold an A class Electrical license and a current driver’s license and access to a vehicle. The completion of a Certificate IV in Training & Assessment or Assessor Skillset (TAESS00019) is required or a willingness to undertake. 

The Positions

The positions available are weekend and evening work. The schedule of hours can be flexible to a degree. The base salary is competitive, and superannuation (13%) and annual leave loading is paid in addition to the base salary negotiated.
