Ballarat Motor Winders have been supplying new products and services relevant to Electric Motors, Electric Motor Gearboxes, Generators, Pumps, Compressions, High Pressure Water Pumps, Heater/Cooler Fan Motors for over 50 years in and around the Ballarat area.
Qualifications & experience
- Experience in AC & DC LV/HV Motors & Generators
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar industry and winding experience for LV/HV Electric Motors
- Knowledge in stationary and portable generators, water pumps, electric motor gearboxes, high pressure water pumps and heater/cooler fan motors
- Experience with Rotating Electrical Equipment such as high voltage Motors and Generators will be advantageous.
- Experience in disassembly, reassembly and conduct electrical tests on motors.
- A trade qualification in Electrical Fitting of rotating equipment (Cert III In Electrical Machine Repair)
- Restricted Electrical Workers License (Motors Class) (Desirable)
- Ability to travel to site when required
- Driver’s license
- Forklift license
Tasks & responsibilities
Disassemble, reassemble, conduct electrical tests, replace parts & assemble Electrical Motors
- Electrical Fitting
- Disassemble
- Fault Finding
- Assess condition of AC and DC motors
- Carry out Static Electrical tests
- Carry out repairs
- Reassemble
- Inspecting designs and finished products for compliance with specifications and regulations
Rewinding of the following:
- High/Low Voltage AC and DC Electric Motors Workshop
- Alternators for generators both portable and stationary
- Repair of the following: a. Various types of pumps (electrical & mechanical) b. Generators both portable and stationary other than alternators (electrical)
- Electric motor works on various items including those that require an electric motor or electricity to perform what it has been designed
- Conduct detailed analysis and inspections to determine necessary maintenance and repair method of AC and DC Electric Motors.
- Ensure safe working procedures and practices are always followed including the wearing and maintenance of assigned Personal Protective Equipment, attendance at required health, safety and environment training, report injury, incidents, hazards and near miss events.
