About The Role:
The Electrical Planner is responsible for the electrical planning and work management for Norton Gold Fields sites. The position works closely with all members of the Planning and Engineering teams, Electrical and Project Supervisors, and Maintenance Superintendents. The Electrical Planner will review notifications, internal and external requests, prioritise and schedule work orders, scope and plan tasks in accordance with agreed work management processes and procedures. Establishing and maintaining a maintenance history for all electrical plant and equipment will be part of the role and the regional ELECTRICAL PLANNER will apply a standardised approach towards all electrical works including shutdown, statutory and modular maintenance.
Key Duties and Tasks:
- Demonstrate Safety Leadership, participate in incident investigations as required and deliver planned work that can be safely executed
- Follow work management policies and procedures and support the wider planning team to do the same
- Conduct day to day electrical maintenance task scoping, planning, and scheduling
- Monitor the progress of planned maintenance activities and proactively adjust work schedules accordingly.
- Provide input into the short, medium and long term strategic maintenance plans
- Monitor and review electrical equipment performance, action root cause analysis investigation outcomes and modify strategies to improve overall performance and availability of Norton assets
- Ensure equipment history is correctly and accurately recorded in the relevant Maintenance Management System.
- Assist in the development of budgets, business cases and continuous improvement solutions
- Complete end of month reporting as required or directed
- Liaise with service personnel and suppliers etc. to ensure required support, equipment and spare part availabilities are maintained.
- Identify opportunities to further enhance and improve the overall performance of the planning workflow and material management
- Maintain required licenced trade knowledge to ensure continued compliant and safe electrical work practices.
- Any other duties as required
Role Requirements:
- Relevant Electrical trade qualification.
- Current unencumbered C/HR Western Australian Drivers Licence
- Unrestricted Western Australian Electrical Licence
- Current High Voltage switching certification (desirable)
- Electrical Instrumentation and Automation certification (desirable)
- Front Line Management Certificate IV (desirable)
- Senior First Aid (desirable)
- Compliance with Work Health and Safety Act and Regulations (Mines)
- Compliance with Electricity Licensing Regulations.
Skills and Experience
WORK KNOWLEDGE:
- Minimum of 2 years mine site fixed plant electrical experience
- Minimum of 5 years post apprenticeship electrical work experience
- Minimum of 2 years experience within a similar role.
- Asset management work management experience
- Knowledge of planning principles
- Basic project management experience
COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
- Mature team player with good communication skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills.
- Able to speak, read and write legible English at an Australian Secondary School standard.
- Ability to interact with staff at all levels of the business
COMPUTER SKILLS:
- Previous Pronto (or similar) experience
- Microsoft Office Suite skill set
