The opportunity:
Visy Glass is Australia and New Zealand's largest manufacturer of recycled glass bottles and jars consisting of 5 plants across Australia and New Zealand.
We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join our innovative team based at our 24/7 glass manufacturing plant located in Penrith.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for sustainability and efficiency, with a proven track record in designing and maintaining electrical systems in an industrial environment. Additionally, you will assume the position of Process Control Manager during occasions of absence.
- Primary role is to Maintain HV and LV electrical supply utilities in the plant and engineering design of capital projects associated with minor and major upgrades, modification, and extension to the process in the plant.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide direction, support, and improve production processes.
- Design, test, and oversee the installation of electrical & process control equipment and systems.
- Support the upgrading of PLCs, furnace control systems, production PCs and various telemetry equipment.
- Drive continuous process control improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
- Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical issues.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory codes.
What you will bring to the team:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical/electronic engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing setting, glass industry preferred.
- Strong understanding of electrical design software and PLC programming.
- Experience in HV and/or process control operations and maintenance an advantage.
- A background in fault finding with PLC’s. Siemens and Allen Bradley an advantage.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
