Form of workNepean Longwall have an excellent opportunity for a Electrical Supervisor with Longwall experience to lead and manage the Electrical Department at our Paget workshop in Mackay. This role will over see the inspection, repair, overhaul and commissioning of all electrical fit outs, associated with small and large project overhauls and provide ongoing service to external and internal customers.
Your responsibilities in this role will include:
- Interpret Electrical Schematics and scopes of work
- Control and power wiring of electrical equipment
- Fault finding and function testing of electrical equipment
- AS3800 level overhaul of intrinsically safe control equipment
- Providing high quality workmanship on time and on budget
- Maintain calibration of test equipment
- Ensure all equipment, machinery and tooling is kept in good working order
- Document control and progress reporting
- Liaise with Projects team to set priorities and meet deadlines
- Lead, manage and mentor team of electricians, TA's and Apprentices
- Maintain and manage AS3800 standards
- Handover with other departments, pre start presentations
- Mentor and assist apprentices
- People management
- Communicate directly with Operations Manager and General Manager to provide over view, forecast and manage scope of works/projects
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Relevant Queensland electrical trade qualifications
- The ability to work individually or in a team environment
- Sound knowledge of U/G, Open cut mining electrical equipment is highly regarded
- Alternatively, most heavy industrial or process factory maintenance experience will be considered
- Sound knowledge of AS3000, AS3800 and AS4871 preferable
- AS3800 overhaul experience highly regarded but not essential
- Fault finding skills
- Interpretation of electrical schematics
- Organizational and time management skills
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both written and verbal
- High attention to detail
- Flexibility in approach to work; ability to meet deadlines, availability for additional work hours as required within Nepean Longwall fatigue management guidelines
